Sponsorship Brochure Preview

I am very excited to have just started an internship with Northwest Haiti Christian Mission in Zionsville, IN. Here is a little sneak peak of a sponsorship brochure I am creating to announce two new members to the sponsorship team here at NWHCM. I feel priveldged to be apart of an organization that is making a difference in so many lives. This piece is important because NWHCM is largely supported and funded through donations and I get to be apart of that vision. Excited to see the final piece once it gets designed. Turquoise Feathers is NOW LIVE!!

Turquoise Feathers is NOW LIVE! After weeks of designing, planning, and creating in photoshop and dreamweaver, my site is officially up and running. The site is part online portfolio showcasing my working over the past few years as a designer and photographer, and part freelancing business site to attract new clients to all Turquoise Feathers has to offer. This site wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for my wonderful fiance encouraging me every step of the way, as well as my older brother kyle helping me with much of the technical work and giving me some great business advice.  I've decided to start blogging about my thoughts and feelings on everything from choosing a wedding photographer to what it means to be vintage. I think this will help potential clients to understand my view on design and why I would be a great choice for all their design and photography needs. Coffee Inspired Recipe Card

A great friend and bride-to-be recently came to me wanting a coffee inspired recipe card to include in her bridal shower invitations. What a great idea! Each of the women in her life are to bring their favorite recipes, which the bride will then use to create her own recipe book for married life. Its not only inexpensive, but it is very much emotional and personal. The food she cooks when she is married will have special meaning to her because each recipe is from someone she loves.  :) She is definitely more creative than she thinks!! I was honored to be able to create this recipe card for her that will fit perfectly in her coffee themed kitchen.

So I think I finally have the design done for the new and imporoved TurquoiseFeathers.com. The site should be up and running in a week or so, but here is a preview :)

Cassie and Jason

Yesterday, I had the priveledge of photography some great friends, Cassie and Jason. They are not only great people but they have wonderful character and both love Jesus very much. I am so lucky to have their friendship! They are so cute together, which made my job so much easier. Looking forward to another mini shoot encorporating one of their other loves, the Cubs (sorry alec :(!!)

Website Construction

So the next big step for Turquoise Feathers is the creation of our website. Here are some of the things I am currently working on. I am hoping to have the site up and running within the next few weeks. :)

Turquoise Feathers Business Cards

Just created these turquoise feathers business cards. They have been in the works for a while and I LOVE how they turned out. The handmade feel mimics my style perfectly!

Glenneth Layne Invites

So I posted the invites for Glenneth Layne Photography's Crew Launch Party about two weeks ago, and here is the final product! I love how they turned out and Christina of Glenneth Layne was very pleased as well. Check out the work of Glenneth Layne here.

Sarah Gail Photography

One of my greatest friends, Sarah Brown, recently came to me and asked me to design a logo for her photography business. She does amazing work so I course I was thrilled to do it! You can check out some of her work here. I wanted to create something that conveyed her personality, loving spirit, and was still somewhat sophisticated. I am really pleased with what we came up with.

Firehouse Real Estate

Here is the final Firehouse Real Estate Logo. I created various business cards to go along with the logo, and one will be selected to print. 

Wedding Inspiration Board

Yes, I know. I am a designer at heart, what can I say? I did make an inspiration/mood board for my wedding. It gives a sense of the style and experience I want to showcase and create for the guests. It is a great representation of Alec and I's style, as well as my style as a designer. I love that! I could do this for the rest of my life! :)

George Washington Community High School

My visual communications program at Herron is currently divided into smaller agencies and each tackling a different organization. Ours is working with GWCHS on the west side of Indianapolis. This is a first design for a home page for their up and coming website. Our goal is to brand their story and new school model they have created over the past 10 years. Each verb represents a different contributor to their success. More to come...

Recipe Card

I've been doing a lot of baking lately, and I love watching cooking shows more than anything. I've been inspired to create a recipe book of my favorites and thought I would start designing something to house these recipes.

Final IRELA Tshirt

So you all might remember my post a few weeks ago with the designs for the band IRELA. Here is the finished design and final Tshirt. They didn't have as much time to create them as they would have liked, but I am pleased with the way they turned out. They sold out on the night of their concert. Pretty impressive. Make sure and check out IRELA's music here. Thanks to my wonderful fiance for modeling their shirt for me. :)

Online Professional Portfolio

So I just created a Behance Portfolio online. This site will allow me to connect with other designs, gain exposure through the AIGA, and be present in the design professional world. My latest project is entitled A Typographical Response.
