Watercolor & Hand-Stitched Plaid Wedding Invitation Suites

I was so thrilled when Jessica at Lemongrass Photography contacted me about doing custom invitations, menus, and place cards for her Loving Love Workshops! I loved helping discuss with her ideas, themes, and creative avenues to venture down for these two days of instruction and learning. You can view all of her workshop blog post's here! I am beyond pleased with how well they came out. If you are interested in purchasing either one of these invitation suites for a future wedding, please send me an email and I would love to work with you -- jenny@turquoisefeathers.com! Enjoy!

Nate & Michelle's Barn Inspired Wedding Invitations

I was so honored when Nate and Michelle asked me to design their wedding invitations a few months ago. They told me they were trying their best to include as many friends and family as they could in the planning and work of the wedding and I LOVE that idea!! Why wouldn't you asked friends you love and care for to take your wedding pictures, design your invites, and be most involved in your special day?  Brides and Grooms like Nate & Michlle make my job so much easier! They were lovely people to work with and I was so thrilled with the design we came up with.

Being that their wedding reception is at the Centennial Barn in Cincinnati, we knew wanted to incorporate the barn doors into the design. We came up with this idea so that guests would experience and open the doors first and foremost (just as they will upon arriving at the reception), followed by all of the wedding details and information. We included a 3.5x5in RSVP postcard and a double sided map with the invitation, tied it up with a gray and white striped string, and attached a circular tag with their "logo" and registry information.  We incorporated their wedding colors (purple, gray and black) in the design and gave it a fun and typographic yet slightly vintage style.  Finally, I created a custom return address stamp for back flap of the matte gray envelopes. Thanks Nate and Michelle for including me in your day! Can't wait to see you tie the knot in just a few short weeks :)

Thanks for supporting Turquoise Feathers! Feel free to comment or message me with any questions or inquiries!

Self-Guided Work

Lately, I have been more motivated to make just for the sake of making (unfortunately this is what Herron does to you haha :)). Here are a few things I have produced in the last month or so....

Blair and Danny's Accordion Style Wedding Invitations

Hey viewers!

I know it has been a few weeks since I last blogged, but a lot has been going on. I graduated from the Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis, and moved to cincinnati to finally be with my husband! (we got married in March, view the post here, and have been living apart from each other while I finished my degree) I have been applying for jobs, working on freelance design and photography work, and keeping plenty busy! So happy to be back though...

You may remember this couple from their gorgeous vintage handkerchief save the dates I created and  blogged about in May (You can view them here), but they are back! This time I am showcasing their lovely accordion fold wedding invitations. The 4 fold wedding invite features location information, maps, accommodations, and a perforated tear off RSVP card. We folded the invite and placed it in a custom stamped muslin drawstring bag along with a stamped RSVP envelope for returning. The otter envelopes were custom stamped and illustrated by myself as well, and addressed using handwritten calligraphy.

Thanks Blair and Danny for being so fun and easy to work with. Stay tuned for their programs coming in the next few months! Enjoy!

Until another creative day,

Jenny
