The Value of Editing

One important thing I have learned in my last few months of photographing is the importance of retouching and how much of a difference it can truly make. Not only does it clean up an image, but it enhances, transforms, and accentuates an image's potentional. As much as I hate to say it, a "great photograph" can be taken by chance, mere luck, if the time, place, subject, and lighting happen to be right. However, great retouching takes time, effort, and a keen eye for artwork. I wanted to show a few examples of what retouching can do to an image, how it can change your perception and emotions related to that image. Take  a look:

It is crazy how much editing can to do to image. I am so thankful to have learned photoshop early, had time to explore, and am excited to continue to discover new things. Comment with an questions on what I did to create these beautiful images!

Becoming Official

My baby is getting ordained in about 3 weeks and I couldn't be more proud of him for what he has accomplished and how hard he was worked. We began planning an event to celebrate his ordination at the end of the month and insisted on making beautifully elegant, sophisticated, and vintage invites to send out to all of our family and friends. Here is the lovely result:

Simple Elegance

Some of our best friends, Cassie and Jason get married this past weekend...wow was it a beautiful day! She looked absolutely gorgeous and their day couldn't have gone any better! :) I had the amazing privilege of designing their invites, programs, and favor tags and was a definitely a proud designer that day. We were going for simple elegance, as that describes them well, with a subtle polka dot theme to it. Take a look. Thank you cassie and jason for letting me be apart of your day :)
